Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.  

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

Department of Paediatrics and Child Health recently received a donation

The University of the Free State's (UFS) Department of Paediatrics and Child Health recently received a donation of R27 000 from Vodacom. The Department is involved in the care of babies and children who need special medical care. This includes children with cancer, heart diseases, neurological sickness and children who need intensive care such as premature babies.
