Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

Campus tour for grade 11 learners

The University of Free State (UFS) hosted a campus tour for grade 11 learners from schools in Bloemfontein, Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu to share the different study opportunities offered by the UFS with them.

The Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the UFS, Prof Frederick Fourie has a word with Mr Mofokeng Tefo (17) a learner from Tsoseletso High School.
