Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.  

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

Establishment of a chair in agricultural development
2006-08-18

The Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS) received an amount of R300 000 from the Land Bank for the establishment of a chair in agricultural development.  The funds will be used to disseminate agricultural information at a national and provincial level for the establishment of a training unit for small-scale farmers and to support these farmers in the commercialisation of their operations.
