Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.  

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

Applications for study in 2017 extended
2016-11-10

The closing date for applications for study in 2017 has been extended to 30 November 2016. The application fee of R260 for 2017 has been waived.

This extension only applies to non-selection programmes, as the following selection courses have already closed for 2017 applications (closing date in brackets):

  • Architecture (31 May 2016)
  • Health Sciences - MBChB and Allied Health Professions (31 May 2016)
  • Quantity Surveying / Construction Management (31 July 2016)
  • Nursing (29 July 2016)
  • Geology / Forensic Sciences (30 September 2016)
  • Social Work (30 September 2016)
