Story Lacea Loader
Received from Lacea Loader
Disruption of academic activities occurred on the Bloemfontein, South, and Qwaqwa campuses of the University of the Free State (UFS) on 1 and 2 August 2023.
The university management is aware that the protest action has impacted our students’ academic programme, as well as academic and support service activities on the campuses.
Here is a message to staff and students from Prof Francis Petersen, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the UFS, about the events of the past two days: https://vimeo.com/kovsies/fromthevc

In total there are six former Kovsies in the Springbok camp. The team made use of the university’s Shimla Park this week to prepare for the game. Here are, from the left, front: C.J. van der Linde, Bismarck du Plessis, and Gurthrö Steenkamp; back: Juan Smith, Mr Mickey Gordon, Head: Strategic Sport and Business Development at the UFS, Prof. Teuns Verschoor, Acting Rector of the UFS, Mr James Letuka, Director: KovsieSport, and Ruan Pienaar. Tonderai Chavanga, Smith and Steenkamp will play for the Springboks tomorrow. Chavanga was absent when the photo was taken.
