Disruption of academic activities occurred on the Bloemfontein, South, and Qwaqwa campuses of the University of the Free State (UFS) on 1 and 2 August 2023.
The university management is aware that the protest action has impacted our students’ academic programme, as well as academic and support service activities on the campuses.

A delegation from the Department of Science and Technology in Vietnam recently visited the Department of Microbial, Biochemical and Food Biotechnology at the University of the Free State (UFS) to learn from South African experiences in preservation and exploitation of genetic resources and to establish contacts for collaboration.
