Disruption of academic activities occurred on the Bloemfontein, South, and Qwaqwa campuses of the University of the Free State (UFS) on 1 and 2 August 2023.
The university management is aware that the protest action has impacted our students’ academic programme, as well as academic and support service activities on the campuses.

147 UFS first-years boast with six or more A’s

One hundred and forty-seven of the first-year students registered at our university this year had obtained six or more A's in their Grade 12 end-of-year examinations.
This is the largest number of first year students with this quality qualifications registered at our university in years.
