This year, the University of the Free State will witness one of its biggest graduation seasons yet. A total of 19 ceremonies will take place this April. The Qwaqwa Campus will host four ceremonies from 14 to 15 April and the Bloemfontein Campus will host fifteen celebrations from 18 to 22 April 2023. 

A grand total of 8 628 graduates will walk across the stage throughout the seven days. In addition, four honorary doctorates will also be conferred. Prof Stephen Brown will be awarded the Council Medal, Prof Mattheus Lötter is to receive the Chancellor's Medal.

Staff attend congress in Abu Dhabi

Five staff members of the Department of Public Management in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS) attended and delivered papers at the joint congress of the International Institute for Administrative Sciences (IIAS) and the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) held recently in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. From the left are, front: Prof. Koos Bekker (professor in the department) and Prof. Moses Sindane (Departmental Chairperson), back: Ms Alet Ness (Professional Officer), Prof. Hendri Kroukamp (Programme Director: Public Sector Management) and Ms Hestelle van Heyningen (research fellow). Another member of the faculty and Programme Director of Accountancy at the UFS, Prof. Hentie van Wyk, also attended the conference.
