Vishuis does it again
2013-04-09

09 April 2013

Steinhoff Vishuis won their third overall and second consecutive title, after winning the 2013 Varsity Cup Residence competition.

Vishuis beat the team of Steinhoff Villagers from NWU-Pukke by 20 points to 16 in the final that was played in Stellenbosch on Monday 8 April 2013.

Previous titles seemingly gave Vishuis the edge as they managed to overturn a 16 to 10 points deficit with only 20 minutes left to play.

There was even more good news for University of the Free State (UFS) rugby supporters.

After a remarkable season, Shimlas’ captain, Oupa Mohoje, also walked away as the 2013 Player That Rocks, which is the Varsity Cup’s equivalent of a player of the tournament award. Mohoje’s performance was widely lauded during the 2013 season, during which he was also the Shimlas’ top try scorer.
