Mark your calendar: The Faculty of Law's Human Rights celebration is approaching!
In commemoration of Human Rights Day, the Faculty of Law at the University of the Free State (UFS) is marking the occasion with a series of special events. These include a panel discussion titled Contribution of Sir Kentridge to Human Rights in South Africa and Beyond, and a public lecture titled Thirty Years of Human Rights in South Africa? Any Reason to Celebrate? – delivered by Emeritus Constitutional Court Justice Albie Sachs, promising a day of profound reflection and insight.

The Research Report of the University of the Free State was launched this week at a panel discussion on Perspective on Research as part of the inaugural programme of the Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jonathan Jansen. The discussion was led by Prof. Jansen (middle), Prof. Josephine Allen of the Cornell University in the United States, and Dr Ben Ngubane (right), former Minister of Science and Technology and former Ambassador to Japan. With them are, from the left: Prof. Frans Swanepoel, Director: Research Development, and Prof. Teuns Verschoor, Vice-Rector: Academic Operations.
