The Faculty of the Humanities Centre for Gender and Africa Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Innovation, Academy of Science of South Africa, and the Edith Cowan University, will be hosting a Visiting Scholar Lecture with Prof Loretta Baldassar titled: Transnational Family Care: from social death to digital kinning over a century of Australian Migration.

Staff and students are encouraged to attend. The details are as follows:

Employee awarded prestigious scholarship
2008-09-07

A University of the Free State employee, Ms Sandra Seitshiro has been awarded an Association of Commonwealth Universities Scholarship to study for a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management at the University of Westminster in London. The aim of the scholarship is to improve the management of human resources in institutions of higher learning in developing countries. It is awarded for the period 22 September 2008 to 30 August 2009. Ms Seitshiro is a labour relations officer in the Department of Human Resources.
