The Faculty of the Humanities Centre for Gender and Africa Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Innovation, Academy of Science of South Africa, and the Edith Cowan University, will be hosting a Visiting Scholar Lecture with Prof Loretta Baldassar titled: Transnational Family Care: from social death to digital kinning over a century of Australian Migration.

UFS appoints George Fivaz for safety plan

The University of the Free State (UFS) appointed Mr George Fivaz, former commissioner of the South African Police Services to conduct an investigation on campus safety and to compile an effective safety plan for the three campuses of the UFS. He visited the UFS Main Campus this week together with his investigating team from Ramathe Fivaz Policing Advisory Services. Here are, from the left: Mr Christoff Fivaz, consultant for systems and technology from Ramathe Fivaz Policing Advisory Services, Mr Tebogo Molema, consultant for risk management at Ramathe Fivaz Policing Advisory Services, Mr Fivaz, and Mr Willie Frankim, manager of security services at the UFS.
