The Faculty of the Humanities Centre for Gender and Africa Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Innovation, Academy of Science of South Africa, and the Edith Cowan University, will be hosting a Visiting Scholar Lecture with Prof Loretta Baldassar titled: Transnational Family Care: from social death to digital kinning over a century of Australian Migration.

| Academics from the Grow our Own Timber (GOOT) Programme attended a workshop on academic leadership presented by Prof. Chris Kapp from the Stellenbosch University. The workshop addressed challenges and issues faced by academic leaders in South African Higher Education institutions. Leadership for teaching and learning and leadership for research were also discussed. At the workshop were, from the left: Mr Lehlohonolo Mathengtheng, Department of Medical Microbiology, Prof. Kapp, and Ms Adré Minnaar-Ontong, Department of Plant Sciences. |
