The Faculty of the Humanities Centre for Gender and Africa Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Innovation, Academy of Science of South Africa, and the Edith Cowan University, will be hosting a Visiting Scholar Lecture with Prof Loretta Baldassar titled: Transnational Family Care: from social death to digital kinning over a century of Australian Migration.

Academic named as Free State Agriculturist for 2009

Prof. Hennie Snyman from the Department of Animal, Wildlife and Grassland Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS) has recently been named as the Free State Agriculturist for 2009 by the Agricultural Writers Association. With this he qualifies for the national competition that will take place in Pretoria on 13 November 2009.
