The Faculty of the Humanities Centre for Gender and Africa Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Innovation, Academy of Science of South Africa, and the Edith Cowan University, will be hosting a Visiting Scholar Lecture with Prof Loretta Baldassar titled: Transnational Family Care: from social death to digital kinning over a century of Australian Migration.

Aids sufferers encouraged not to give up

The Aids Unit of the University of the Free State (UFS) held an HIV/Aids Candlelight Memorial Service on the Main Campus in Bloemfontein in remembrance of those who live with the disease and those who have died from it. The theme for the day was "Stop HIV and Aids. Never give up”. Lighting candles in remembrance of those affected and infected by Aids, were Bonolo Phatlane, first-year B.Admin. student (left), and Prof. Teuns Verschoor, Acting Rector of the UFS.
