The settlement of a new colony at the Southern point of Africa at the beginning of the 18th century is exposed to vicious inherent struggles, uprisings and political turmoil. Willem Adriaan van der Stel is the Governor of the Cape and Adam Tas is in the Castle’s dungeon. His son passed away and the community is up in arms. This situation leads to various events which creates an unpredictable atmosphere within the community.

This one-act is a finely nuanced, character-driven play with beautiful moments of angst, pathos and bravery. Die Arrestasie will be performed in the Wynand Mouton Theatre on 25 and 27 October at 18:00 and on the 26th at 19:30. For more information contact 051 401 2160 between 08:00 and 13:00.
