Postgraduate Research Unit
The UFS Sasol Library on the Bloemfontein Campus has a dedicated Postgraduate Research Unit located on level 6, creating an environment conducive to studying/research for postgraduate students. This section of the library is for the use of Master's and PhD students only.
Available during office hours – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 08:00 to 16:30, and Wednesday 09:00-16:30, it is equipped with the following resources:
- 30 computer workstations
- Wireless access using laptops: Visitor access shall be required
- Photocopier
- Water cooler and coffee machine
Kovsiecat
A multitude of electronic resources can be accessed on- and off-campus through the library search engine. Information on how to apply for off-campus access can be obtained from Research Librarians. Information resources can also be sent to students not residing in Bloemfontein and who are prepared to pay for the service (document delivery).
Access
All library services are accessible to prospective postgraduate students. Access shall be subject to a valid student card with photo.

Inter-Library Loan Services
Postgraduate students benefit from the Inter-Library Loans service on level 6, making it possible for students to access and use books and journal articles from other academic libraries.
Music Library
The Music Library serves the needs of the students of the Odeion School of Music and boasts an extensive string quartet collection, which includes printed music and sound recordings, a vast range of pocket scores, compact discs, vinyl records and periodical titles.
