The department is a leading site of knowledge production and educational responsiveness. We engage with national and provincial priorities and cater to the expanding educational sector needs. We are an interdisciplinary department that offers modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on the UFS Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa Campuses. Disciplines

Philosophy and Education Policy Studies discipline

This discipline is currently the home of three academic fields: Philosophy of Education, Policy Studies in Education, and Social Justice Education.

Psychology of Education

This discipline is innovative in its application of psychological knowledge and beliefs in teaching and learning. It offers a range of programmes dealing with human well-being and development, learning processes, inclusivity, and diversity.

At the undergraduate level (BEd), this discipline offers modules that address:

• Inclusive teaching and learning
