First Year Welcoming and Orientation

First-year students are encouraged to attend the First-Year Welcoming and Orientation, as this will help them to transition smoothly into university life. These sessions provide important information about academic expectations, campus resources, support services, and student life. They also allow students to familiarise themselves with the campus, meet faculty and staff members, connect with fellow students, and gain a clear understanding of their responsibilities and rights as the University Free State education students. Attending these events ensures that first-year students start their academic journey fully informed, supported, and prepared for success.

RELOCATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (FOUNDATION PHASE) IN THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION TO THE SOUTH CAMPUS IN 2023

Due to the University of the Free State Council-approved Multi-Campus Management Model, this communication seeks to inform prospective first-year students and Stakeholders that the Department of Childhood Education (Foundation Phase) has relocated to the South Campus.

All staff members (academics and support) are already operating from the Campus, and therefore, all first-year students (undergraduate) who have applied for the Foundation Phase, when admitted, will register, and attend all lectures at the South Campus, from 2023 onwards. The Faculty of Education will communicate the necessary information and share all the details with students before the commencement of the first semester classes.
