Postgraduate qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics offers the following postgraduate programmes:

STUDY DURATION
The minimum duration for all postgraduate studies offered in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is two years. Master’s degrees should be completed within two years and doctoral degrees within four years.

The research master’s degree comprises a comprehensive research project related to a topic of choice chosen by the student in collaboration with his/her supervisor, as well as a non-credit bearing Research Methodology module.
PhD programmes
The D Dietetics degree comprises a comprehensive research project related to a topic of choice chosen by the student in collaboration with his/her promoter.
The projects undertaken for the Master’s and PhD programmes are all undertaken according to an approved research protocol that has been approved by an Evaluation Committee and Health Sciences Research Ethics Committee before data collection may commence.
