Postgraduate qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics offers the following postgraduate programmes:

Master of Science in Dietetics
Master in Nutrition
Doctor of Dietetics
Doctor of Nutrition

STUDY DURATION

The minimum duration for all postgraduate studies offered in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is two years. Master’s degrees should be completed within three years and doctoral degrees within five years.

Master’s programmes

The research master’s degree comprises a comprehensive research project related to a topic of choice chosen by the student in collaboration with his/her supervisor, as well as the Research Methodology module. The project is undertaken according to an approved research protocol that has been approved by an evaluation committee and ethics committee before data collection may commence.

PhD programmes

The PhD degree comprises a comprehensive research project related to a topic of choice chosen by the student in collaboration with his/her promoter. The project is undertaken according to an approved research protocol that has been approved by an evaluation committee and ethics committee before data collection may commence.
