The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA or the Council) is a statutory body, established in terms of the Health Professions Act No. 56. The HPCSA is committed to serving and protecting the public and providing guidance to registered healthcare practitioners.



Association for Dietetics in South Africa
The Association for Dietetics in South Africa (ADSA) is the professional organisation for Registered Dieticians.  There are eleven ADSA branches that offer dieticians the opportunity to meet and network with other professionals within each province. ADSA assists in the development of the dietetics profession and works towards achieving optimal nutrition for all South Africans.



South African Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition
The Society aims to promote clinical nutrition research and all forms of nutritional education. The vision of SASPEN is to promote, coordinate and encourage the development and application of clinical nutrition practices in South Africa.



The Nutrition Society of South Africa
The Nutrition Society strives to advance the scientific study of nutrition to promote appropriate strategies for the improvement of nutrition well-being.



Society for Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes of South Africa
SEMDSA is a professional organisation, promoting research regarding Diabetes or any other Endocrine condition. SEMDSA aims to further the scientific study and clinical practice and to promote research into all branches of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes. It aims to affiliate with similar national or international Societies or Federations.



World Health Organization
WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.



United Nations Children’s Fund
With a strong presence in South Africa, UNICEF is a leading advocate for children. UNICEF has the global authority to influence decision makers and the variety of partners at the grassroots level to turn the most innovative ideas into reality. UNICEF believes that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones of human progress.
