The iKUDU project is an international educational project aimed at fostering bridges between South African and European higher education institutions through virtual exchanges. More specifically, the project aims to develop a contextualized South African concept of 'Internationalization of the Curriculum (IoC) by integrating Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). In doing so, the overall goal is to contribute to the process of the decolonization of the curriculum. iKUDU is funded within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in Higher Education program. The iKudu project is an EU-funded Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project, which will be implemented over a three-year period from 15 November 2019 to 14 November 2022. It is coordinated by the University of the Free State and has the University of Antwerp (Belgium) as co-coordinator. The consortium has been awarded EUR999 881 (approximately R16 million) in funding from the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. Read more

The iKUDU project is an EU-funded capacity building project focused on setting up a community of practice on COIL and the role that this can play in the internationalisation of the curriculum.
