The Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) is responsible for developing skills within South Africa's safety, security, policing, correctional services, justice and defence sectors. The bursary programme supports students pursuing qualifications that strengthen crime prevention, public safety, justice and national security, while contributing to the development of a skilled workforce in these critical sectors.
- Eligibility criteria:
- South African citizen
- Accepted or registered at an accredited higher education institution
- Demonstrate satisfactory academic performance
- Meet financial need requirements stipulated by the bursary programme
- Fields: Policing, Criminology, Forensic Investigation, Criminal Justice, Security Management, Correctional Services, Law, Public Safety, Defence Studies, Intelligence Studies and related safety and security qualifications.
- What the bursary covers: Tuition fees, registration fees, prescribed textbooks and study materials, accommodation costs (where applicable) and approved study-related expenses.
- How to apply: Applicants will be able to submit an application through the PeopleSoft Bursary Application platform when a bursary is open for applications.
