Registration 2021

The 2021 registration process of the University of the Free State (UFS) will take place online for first-year, senior, and postgraduate students (excluding students in the Faculty of Health Sciences and South Campus and sub-region students).

When you re-register for a master’s or doctoral degree, you must do so during the official registration period (8 February to 31 March 2021 for the first semester and 30 September for the second semester), and not during the month you initially registered.

UFS Postgraduate School

The UFS Postgraduate School is mandated with supporting the university community with services and information resources meant to support the university in its quest to reach its teaching, learning, research, and community engagement goals. The University of the Free State made an institutional commitment to excellence in postgraduate education and established the Postgraduate School (PGS) in 2011.

Research excellence is often endorsed as a means of proclaiming an ideal for the highest attainment of quality in research at higher education institutions. This proclamation, however, pushes the focus onto the outputs of your work as a postgraduate student, both as a measure of institutional productivity, and as a reflection of your research skill. The Postgraduate School provides additional support to that which is provided by faculties and departments in the form of workshops, courses, and other presentations, which equip the students with the requisite skills for successful completion of their postgraduate education.

Students are the heartbeat of the UFS Postgraduate School
