Description and Purpose: |
"In this CoLT, individuals keep a journal in which they write about a reading assignment, lecture, task, or experience. Each student then exchanges journals with a peer who reads and responds to the entry with comments and questions. Dialogue Journals offer a formal medium for students to record their thoughts, connect coursework to their personal lives, and ask each other questions. Journals can be particularly effective when writers now that someone who is also interested in the topic will read and respond to their entries." — Collaborative Learning Techniques, Barkley, EF, Cross, KP, Major CH, 2016
