"Panel of experts are often used at conferences and symposia to convey specific information from multiple perspectives. The Panel Presentation IDEA uses this same conference “expert panel” concept to develop expertise for a complicated topic within a course by allowing students to break up the work into manageable chunks. It also teaches students how to better work together as a collective.Panel Presentation also work well for discussions related to sensitive topics (Silberman, 1995). This IDEA allows for diffusion of responsibility on an otherwise difficult dialogue (Finkel & Bollin, 1994). The activity can improve student research skills, organizational skills, and presentation skills.
