| Purpose | "The Synthesis Paper requires that students move beyond simple summary to a more complex representation of the complexity of issues and ideas from a variety of course readings. This LAT is particularly useful to help students think more critically about what they are reading, and it is useful when individual readings oversimplify a topic or issue.
