How can we have a discussion if the students haven’t read the assignment?

Svinicki and McKeachie (2011) propose two examples to help students reviewing notes before class:

  1. Give students questions at the end of one class, asking them to get information on the questions before the next class. You can ask students to evaluate the validity of different internet sources providing relevant information. You might even give different assignments to teams of students.
  2. Ask students to bring one or more questions on the assignment to be turned in at the beginning of the next class.
