Studied with classmates

Svinicki and McKeachie (2011) share different examples of the value of peer learning as well as how to get students to engage in group work. One example of getting students more engaged with their peers is to implement team-based learning (p. 197). Students are assigned groups to which they belong for the whole term/semester. Students are assigned readings and are expected to take part in quizzes or discussions on the topic within their groups. Students develop a sense of responsibility towards their group as well as developing cognitive skills related to reasoning, evaluation, and critical thinking.
