Writing in a large class
 Overview Pages: 145

Large classes make it difficult to promote lengthy writing assignments. Davis gives an example of how a lecturer teaching a class of 300 required everyone to submit one paper during the semester. Early on he divided the class into groups of 30, with each group having to submit their work at a different time. Students would receive their topics two weeks before the deadline. Using this approach he is able to give better feedback to students.
