The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Dr Blade Nzimande, MP, has authorised NSFAS to open the 2020 application season for student funding from 1 September - 30 November 2019.

Prof. Frans Swanepoel appointed to ARC Board

Prof. Frans Swanepoel.
Prof. Frans Swanepoel, Senior Director: Research Development and Professor at the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development at the University of the Free State (UFS), has been appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to the Board of the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) of South Africa. Previously he served as Deputy Chairperson of the ARC Board. Prof. Swanepoel is currently participating in a review of global agricultural research where he acts as advisor and reviewer of the CGIAR system based at the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation in Rome.
