The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Dr Blade Nzimande, MP, has authorised NSFAS to open the 2020 application season for student funding from 1 September - 30 November 2019.

NanoAfrica2012 to be held at the UFS

The University of the Free State (UFS) will host the 4^th International Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NanoAfrica2012) from 1-4 April 2012. The conference is co-organised by the Department of Physics at UFS and the South African Nanotechnology Initiative (SANi).

The theme of the conference is Nanostructured Materials for Industrial and Social Development. The conference is aimed at covering a wide variety of topics ranging from fundamental research to technological applications of nanostructured materials. High-profile international specialists from countries such as Germany, Spain, the USA and India will be presenting plenary lectures.
