About 35 black and white students from the University of the Free State spontaneously formed a circle in front of the Main Building of the Main Campus in Bloemfontein late afternoon on Thursday 28 February 2008 to pray for the university in view of the extremely offensive and racist video that surfaced during the week and caused world-wide reaction. The students were joined by the Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Frederick Fourie, and other members of the top management who were busy with a meeting at the time. The group was interdenominational and the students hugged each other afterwards.
