What is the GPS?

Track Your Success (TYS) forms part of the UFS's Graduate Positioning Support also known as GPS@UFS. Using predictive analytics and the student success algorithm system, TYS determines students’ academic behaviour. In response to the indicators, students are nudged to provide appropriate, just-in-time support via trained and dedicated success coaches and a wider student support network. TYS offers the UFS the opportunity to better understand and moreover support students and produce desirable graduates.

Who does it impact?

The GPS coordinator along with a team of success coaches track and proactively contact undergraduate students based on flags (success indicators) they trigger as a result of their behaviors. The main goal of TYS is to minimise students time to degree, optimise student support and offer students’ equitable opportunities to succeed. Students are identified regularly through the proactive monitoring of their academic behaviours (indicators).
