What is it? A team that leads innovation and support in student transition into and through university.
Why is it important? We want to help our students adjust to university and provide everyone with an equitable chance at success – both at university and in the world of work.
How does it help? Our projects include UFSS, EDED, Graduate Attributes, and the Digitals Skills and Competencies Learning Pathway – all aimed at helping students to find their feet at university and prepare them for a career after graduation.
UFSS
This is a compulsory, year-long First-Year Seminar positioned as a module for first-year students to help them transition into university and introduce them to career development and career decision-making.
Graduate Attributes
This is an institutional project which fosters the development of the competencies and skills that employers are looking for in employees. These attributes are critical thinking, problem-solving, written communication, oral communication, ethical reasoning, community engagement, and entrepreneurial mindset.
EDED
This is a capstone module for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students. It teaches them to reflect, take stock of their skillset, and articulate this skillset to future employers through different types of ePortfolios.
Digital Skills and Competencies
This learning pathway teaches students the digital skills they need to be successful in their studies, as well as in their future careers.
