Who are they? Several academic support staff have been positioned within their faculties to work closely with the deans, vice-deans, program directors and lecturers to drive and support learning and teaching practices that fit well within the specific departments and faculties. These include Teaching and Learning Coordinators (who work mostly with Academic Student Tutorial Excellence Programme [A_STEP] tutorials) and Teaching and Learning Managers (who oversee and improve the Learning and Teaching processes within the faculties and ensuring effective training for their academics that align with the UFS needs).

Why is it important? Although different Learning and Teaching initiatives and staff members are positioned within CTL, embedding support and resources directly in the faculties creates space for optimal contextualisation - based on each faculties needs, discipline-specific traits and strengths, information sharing and collaboration for the best possible outcome in terms of Learning and Teaching.
