How to book an appointment on the Bloemfontein Campus

What are the benefits of booking a consultation with the Write Site?

The Write Site assists students with specific assignments that form part of their undergraduate courses. We focus on argumentation, organisation/structure and language, amongst others, and do not edit students’ work. The sessions are collaborative because consultants guide students through identifying and correcting their mistakes, while making suggestions on how to improve their text and their academic writing overall. You are welcome to come as often as you like – it is a free service and we are happy to assist you.

The 3-step booking process

Step 1: Visit our online booking system and make a booking

Click on the following link and book an Online or F2F session with a Write Site consultant at least two working days in advance: https://api.ufs.ac.za/login.aspx?SiteID=79
The booking system link as well as a video on how to navigate the booking system are also available on the Write Site 2024 BFN Support organization on Blackboard (click on “Book a Write Site consultation”).

Step 2:After making a booking, e-mail your documents to the Write Site

Attach your assignment instructions and assignment draft.
Email: writesite@ufs.ac.za
In the email, include:

  • Name and surname
  • Student number
  • Module Code
  • Phone number
  • Date and time of booking
  • Online or F2F
Please note: bookings can only be made two working days in advance. If we do not receive the two documents mentioned above at least two working days in advance, the session may be cancelled on the system and you will need to rebook. The Write Site does not operate on weekends, public holidays and university holidays.

 Step 3:Wait on a confirmation e-mail

In response to Step 2, you will receive a booking confirmation e-mail from the Write Site (writesite@ufs.ac.za). This e-mail will contain crucial session details that you will use to attend your consultation on the scheduled day and time.

You can contact us in the following ways:

  1. Email us at writesite@ufs.ac.za
  2. Phone us at +27 (0) 51 401 7234
  3. Come see us during administrative consultation hours:
  • Mondays: 14:00-15:00
  • Wednesdays: 10:00-12:00
  • Fridays: 10:00-12:00

During consultation hours, go to CTL reception in the Sasol Library and ask to see a Write Site representative.

Take note:
The consultant can only assist you with the draft paper you sent to us when making the booking. If you wish to be assisted with an updated version, please contact us to rebook your online session. For face-to-face sessions, please bring a copy of the most recent version of the assignment (either printed out or on a device).
