3 July: Speak to students in at the University of Canterbury, outside London, UK.
4 July: Meets with Dr Andre Strydom (Psychiatrist) and colleagues (Neuro scientists and other phychiatrists). Dr Strydom is the HEFCE Clinical Senior Lecturer in Intellectual Disabilities UCL Mental Health Sciences Unit in London. He wants to use Sheri in a project that was awarded a grant to do research on people with Down syndrome in the next 5 years. The project aims to help people with Down syndrome in future, but could also help certain “normal” people. The afternoon meets with Prof`s Hardy and Fischer of the Institute of Neurology in London, who explained research that is been done on Downs syndrome and Alzheimer disease and where my daughter, Sher, will be able to assist.
5 July: Invited to be part of a research project on Down syndrome in London by Prof Dean Nizetic, from Queen Mary’s University in London. He is famous for being part of the team that first equenced chromosome 21 and is now doing cellular research using cells from people with DS to see what we can learn about differences in cellular function, which could point the way to new treatments for problems such as Alzheimer’s disease. He and his colleagues showed Sheri the research that they are doing with cells which are taken from the follicles of hair cells.

Invited to the University of London for a follow up on the research work on the LonDownS project, of which Sheri became part in July 2013. She will also become part of a new research on “the brain function in people with Down syndrome.

Delivered a motivational address of R1 110.00 was made towards funds for Lettie Fouche School for learners with Special Needs.

Delivered a motivational address at a ladies function for parents at Jim Fouche Primary school, Bloemfontein. After she spoke the ladies decided to collect money for Lettie Fouche after her speech and a contribution of R2700.00 was made toward the Lettie Fouche School for learners with Special Needs.

Delivered a motivational address at the Jim Fouche Primary school, Bloemfontein.

Delivered a spotlight paper at the 2015 European Conference Series in Thistle Brighton, Brighton, UK.

Addressed all the learners and educators of Eunice Secondary School, Bloemfontein during their assembly period.
