Short CV

Kelebogile Portia Olivier is a junior lecturer at the Department of Criminology, University of the Free State. She obtained her B.A. Hons. Degree (Criminology) and her B.A. degree (Criminology) from the University of the Free State (Bloemfontein, South Africa) and is currently in pursuit of obtaining her M.A. degree titled “Expectations of presiding officers in the South African criminal justice system of the criminologist as an expert witness.”  Prior to joining UFS, she was employed as a Safety Ambassador coordinator by the National Institute for Crime Prevention and Re-integration of Offenders (NICRO) where her responsibilities included coordinating crime prevention initiatives in the community, coordinating school safety initiatives (DBE and SAPS), and conducted diversion assessments and interventions for youths at risks and adult offenders. She also served as a member of the SAPS Free State Youth Crime prevention task team in 2015.
