HONOURS: We have two options for students choosing to specialise in Anthropology:
- Bachelor of Arts Honours with Specialisation in Anthropology (BAHons)
- Bachelor of Social Science Honours with Specialisation in Anthropology (BSocSciHons)
For both of these degrees, the admission requirements are the same:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the requirements as presented in 1.4 under General Information in this Rule Book, the following also applies:
- Admission to the Honours degree in Anthropology depends on the approval of the academic head of department.
- Students must have completed any Exit Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree, must have successfully completed Anthropology at first-, second- and third-year level. If necessary, successful completion of an additional admission assessment might be required.
In addition to formal work assignments, students are required to participate in excursions, subject conferences, seminars and lectures by guest lecturers.

CURRICULUM
The curriculum is compiled from:
- One compulsory module (25% of the programme), which will be assessed by means of two three-hour examination papers or equivalent assessments.
- Two modules (25% of the programme), where students will select a module from a prescribed list. The modules will be assessed by means of two three-hour examination papers or equivalent assessments.
- The design and implementation of a research project (50% of the programme), which will be subject to formative and summative assessment.
There is one compulsory core module that is presented as a year module, as well as the compulsory research project that will be assessed at the end of the academic year.
In addition to these two core modules, students must select two of the available four 16 credit modules to complete their study year. The availability of these modules must be discussed with the Academic Head of Department at the time of acceptance and registration into the program.
