The envisioned purpose of this association is to expose Criminology students to the practical side of what we teach in the various modules offered in our department. We intend on adopting a multidisciplinary and integrated approach as a focal point for this association, in order to expose our students to a more advanced and integrated way of thinking and working together as a cohesive unit. Thereby also promoting the idea of becoming a part of something bigger than themselves, whether it is to be part of court processes, the police, corrections and beyond!

In commemoration of World Homeless Day on October 10, 2023, the Department of Criminology, in collaboration with the newly established Criminology Student Association (CSA), is proud to host its annual donation drive. This initiative is designed to support the day-to-day needs of homeless adults and children benefiting from services provided by various organisations in and around the Bloemfontein area.

About the Event: Since its inception in 2022, this annual donation drive has evolved into a significant event on our calendar. It serves to extend vital assistance to partner organisations that tirelessly give back to the people in our community.

  • Shopping vouchers (Mall vouchers, PnP, Makro, and PEP are highly valued)
  • Shoes (Adult and children, size 3 and above)
  • Clothing (adult and children)
  • Cleaning materials (detergents, washing powder, etc.)
  • Toiletries
  • Non-perishable food items (canned food)
