Michelle Luwes

Michelle Luwes

Michelle Luwes studied at UFS between 2000 and 2003. She is currently a teacher at Jim Fouche Secondary School and is preparing her learners for the upcoming ATKV Tienertoneel Festival. Luwes fondly remembers her time at UFS Drama and Theatre Arts Department, saying that what stood out for her was "The fact that I could be myself, living out my passion to the fullest and learning so much from wonderful lectures".
Besides her work as a teacher, Luwes also works as an addiction counsellor; a calling for which she has infinite passion.

Her favourite quote is from the film, Dead Poet's Society: "But only in their dreams can man be truly free."
