Applications are now open for the African Linguistics School (ALS5) 2019 which will take place from 30 June - 13 July 2019 at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa. This is the first time ALS will take place in Southern Africa and it is a fantastic opportunity for local postgraduate students to take courses with leading international experts on a variety of topics in linguistics (including theoretical linguistics, language documentation and sociolinguistics). Mostly ALS is for postgraduate students but advanced undergraduates might also apply. Note that the school is very selective, since places are limited. Applications close on 15 March 2019.
