Contrary to reports in the mass and social media earlier today, the Bloemfontein Campus of the University of the Free State (UFS) has not been closed today (Monday 10 October 2016). Academic activities resumed on all three campuses this morning.Earlier today, a group of students disrupted classes and tests on the Bloemfontein Campus. Some students on the Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa Campuses were arrested by the South African Police Service in terms of their own instructions.The academic programme is, however, continuing and the university management has put all necessary and reasonable arrangements in place to safeguard staff, students, and its campuses.
