Sustainable Food Systems and Development

In a changing world brought about by environmental and consumer behaviour changes, the food and agricultural sectors are required to adapt, creating a demand for graduates who understand the complexity of our ever-developing food system. Encompassing the whole range of interlinked value-adding activities from production to consumption to disposal, food systems are the future. Elements such as food, natural resources, policies and economic opportunities are all inextricably linked, and the ability to manage these complexities to ensure better food and nutrition security becomes imperative.

The Department for Sustainable Food Systems and Development presents undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications which address both the changes and needs of our current and developing food system. The combination of perspectives from the food and nutrition security sphere, sustainable agriculture, agriculture extensionists and consumers culminated in these qualifications delivering sought after graduates.

Studying at Kovsies enables our graduates to excel in the world of today, equipped with the skills of tomorrow!
