Food systems encompass the entire spectrum of interlinked value-adding activities, ranging from production to consumption to disposal, in effect dictating the quality of our future. Elements such as food, natural resources, governance, policies, and economic opportunities are all inextricably linked.

With an increase in our global population, managing these complexities to ensure better food and nutrition security becomes imperative.

The Department for Sustainable Food Systems and Development offers undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications, which address both the changes and needs of our current and developing food system. 

The combination of perspectives from the food and nutrition security sphere, sustainable agriculture, agriculture extensionists, and consumers, culminated in these qualifications delivering sought-after graduates who are able to work in any community or environment.
