The Bachelor of Sustainable Food Systems prepare students for a broad range of careers related to the management of food systems and sustainable food production. It includes food product development, food processing, quality assurance, marketing and retailing, agricultural extension, food security and community development and agri-business management.

The curriculum provides various modules that offer fundamental theory and knowledge which underpins aspects of agriculture, food processing, food science and management. This interdisciplinary degree essentially focus on Sustainable Food Systems, by providing knowledgeable know-how from food systems and food security, consumer science and food sciences.

The Bachelor of Sustainable Food Systems focus on the development and maintenance of a sustainable food system, including; processing, quality assurance, distribution and consumption. It includes:

  • An holistic approach to Sustainable food systems
  • Food Processing and technology
  • Marketing and consumption
  • Management of the food value chain
  • Quality assurance
  • Food security and sustainable development
  • The importance of extension services and communication to support sustainable food production
