The University of the Free State (UFS) has reached its enrolment targets as set by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for the 2022 first-year enrolment and is unable to register more prospective first-year students for any of its undergraduate programmes.

The UFS is unable to accommodate any prospective first-year students who have not yet registered – even if they have received a letter of acceptance from the university and/or have obtained financial assistance – as all the undergraduate programmes are full.

Although the university has extended its registration period for a week until 18 February 2022 to give prospective first-year students and senior students enough time to register, the institution has reached its capacity to accommodate any more prospective first-year students.
