The University of the Free State's South Campus in Bloemfontein
The University of the Free State (UFS) is actively working towards establishing a School of Veterinary Sciences on its South Campus in Bloemfontein. The school will offer a professional Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), designed to meet professional standards for veterinary education.
The South Campus provides excellent physical and technological infrastructure, including student residences, the Neville Alexander Library, lecture halls, and communal student areas. The lecture halls and laboratories on the campus are being upgraded and remodelled for the training of future veterinarians.
The establishment of the School of Veterinary Sciences is proceeding in accordance with the professional requirements of the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) and national higher education regulatory requirements. Once professional registration and programme accreditation have been granted, and once all regulatory requirements have been met, the programme will be formally advertised and opened for applications for admission to the programme.
Prospective students are advised to monitor the official communication channels of the University of the Free State and the website at www.ufs.ac.za for updates regarding programme readiness and application timelines.
