George Foster, a PhD student at the Odeion School of Music, presents one of his doctoral examination recitals. He will be accompanied by Eljee du Plooy (organ) and Lesley-Ann Mathews (piano).

The service will be sung by men's voices alone, with plainchant canticles and responses. The anthem by Palestrina is an evening hymn in four parts, and is rather striking in effect, with its close harmonies in the lower register. The tenors and basses of the Odeion Choir will be joined by the gentlemen of the Cathedral Singers. Luzanne Eigelaar, a senior student of Jan Beukes, will play the Finale from Joseph Rheinberger's Organ Sonata No. 20.
