George Foster, a PhD student at the Odeion School of Music, presents one of his doctoral examination recitals. He will be accompanied by Eljee du Plooy (organ) and Lesley-Ann Mathews (piano).

The Odeion Sinfonia, an OSM string orchestra, invited several soloists to join them on stage with their concert on Sunday, 13 May in the Odeion. This concert also marks the world première performance of jazz expert Noel Stockton’s Lament for flute and string orchestra which he composed in 2011. Anton Esterhuyse, an OSM alumnus will be the soloist in this performance. The Lament will be followed by Mozart’s Concert for piano and string orchestra (K.414) with OSM student Richard Rheeder at the piano. Finally Grieg’s Holberg Suite with soloists Carmi Viljoen (violin) and Elsabé Raath (viola) will conclude the concert.
